Former Capital Area football coach Nolan Gill dies after battle with Alzheimer'sBATON ROUGE — Former Denham Springs High School and Glen Oaks High School football coach Nolan Gill has died after a battle with Alzheimer's, Denham's football program announced. Gill spent more than three decades as a coach at multiple Capital Area high schools following a college career at Southeastern Louisiana University. Glen Oaks' football fieldhouse has since been named after Gill. In 2000, he began a four-year tenure as the head coach of Denham Springs High's football program. "The impact he had on his players and the many lives he touched throughout his 30-plus-year career will not be forgotten," Denham Springs High's football program wrote on Facebook.
