ZANZIBAR: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged the youth to embrace creative talents to promote the country’s tourist attractions, culture and heritage while creating jobs and income opportunities. The President made the call during a photography auction held in Kizimkazi, Zanzibar, saying creative arts could play a greater role in promoting tourism and environmental conservation. The proceeds are expected to support initiatives promoting the use of clean cooking energy and environmental conservation. The event was organised by the Mwanamke Initiative Foundation (MIF) in collaboration with Waba Group as part of efforts to promote youth creativity, tourism and environmental conservation. The initiative highlights the growing potential of creative industries to contribute to tourism promotion, environmental awareness, employment creation and income generation among young Tanzanians.
