More Mississippians turning to local produce company amid cyclospora outbreak

With a recent outbreak of cyclospora linked to lettuce, some consumers are steering clear of the leafy green.
But for Mississippi lettuce producer Salad Days, the concerns have actually driven more customers to seek out its locally grown products.
Located in Flora, Salad Days operates out of a 68,000-square-foot indoor hydroponic greenhouse.
Since then, the company says its retail customers have doubled their orders as more people turn to Salad Days rather than larger brands grown elsewhere.
Some larger retailers, including Kroger, also carry Salad Days at select locations.
