Tuscaloosa’s Tim Anderson Retires After Decade in the Majors

Tuscaloosa native and Hillcrest High School graduate Tim Anderson has announced his retirement from professional baseball after 10 seasons in the major leagues.
Anderson spent the majority of his career with the Chicago White Sox before later playing for the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Angels.
Anderson became a two-time American League All-Star, earning selections in 2021 and 2022.
He also won the American League batting title in 2019 and earned a Silver Slugger Award in 2020.
Anderson will be celebrated during a special pregame ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 17, recognizing the career of the two-time All-Star and former American League batting champion.
