The B4014 Avening Road near Nailsworth was closed because of the tree, Gloucestershire County Council’s Highways department said yesterday (Tuesday, August 11). “Please be advised of an emergency road closure on the B4014 Avening Road,” a spokesperson for the department said at around 7pm on Tuesday. “The road is blocked by a dangerous tree.” A member of the public had reported ‘a huge tree down past The Weighbridge Inn on the way to Nailsworth’ at 3.30pm yesterday. They added the road was not passable.
