Fiesty ThunderstormsNot everyone received rain, but a pretty good swath of southern North Dakota received some much-needed rain last evening. Thunderstorms started to develop early last evening in Bowman County in extreme southwest North Dakota, and eventually a line began to form all the way just north of Interstate 94. Several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued, and about 10 pm these severe storms reached the Bismarck-Mandan metro. They brought winds up to 70 miles per hour, hail up to golf ball-sized, and rainfall over 2 inches in some locations close to the metro.
