On 13th August, the Saint Mary’s Musical Society in Qrendi will be organising an extraordinary last triduum, combining cherished traditions with spectacular new elements as part of the popular feast of Saint Mary. The evening will begin at 9:30pm with a lively band march through the streets of Qrendi, led by our very own Saint Mary’s Band, accompanied by a traditional fireworks spectacle. Following this, in front of Palazz Marija Assunta, home of the Saint Mary’s Musical Society, the celebrations will continue with a spectacular audio-visual show, followed by the traditional raising of the statue of Our Lady onto the coronation pedestal. The evening will then reach another spectacular highlight with a unique synchronised fireworks display launched from the roof of Palazz Marija Assunta, a tradition that attracts many people every year. This year’s display will also feature a unique ground-firework element on the roof, adding another dimension to the spectacle.
