Co-op Bank Profit Hits Record Ksh23.1 Billion as Earnings Jump 17.3% in H1 2026

Co-operative Bank of Kenya has reported a record half-year profit before tax of Ksh23.1 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026.
According to financial revelations made on Wednesday, August 12, Co-op Bank earnings rose 17.3 per cent from Ksh19.7 billion last year.
Profit after tax increased by 28 per cent to Ksh18 billion from Ksh14.1 billion in the first half of 2025.
Net interest income, the difference between interest earned and interest paid, increased 13 per cent to Ksh33.2 billion during the period.
“By H1 2026, the Bank had disbursed over KSh 27.0 billion to youth customers, supporting over 500,000 youth in entrepreneurship and business expansion,” Dr. Gideon Muriuki, Co-op Bank Group Managing Director and CEO, said.
