Samsung’s Galaxy Buds are about to get a lot more useful for people with hearing loss.
The company says its wireless earbuds—at least newer ones—will soon serve as over-the-counter hearing aids, thanks to new FDA clearance.
Similar to AirPods, the Galaxy Buds’ hearing aid feature is meant for people with mild to moderate hearing loss who are over 18.
After taking the test, users will get a grade for each ear, describing whether their hearing loss is mild, moderate, severe, or profound.
Both the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are rated for just seven hours of use when active noise cancellation (ANC) is disabled.
