Supermicro (SMCI) stock climbed nearly 15% in early trading Wednesday, after the company reported Q4 results that topping expectations on earnings but falling short on revenue.
But Wall Street appeared more interested in the AI server maker's rosy Q1 outlook that was well above expectations than the Q4 sales miss.
For the fourth quarter, Supermicro saw adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.70 on revenue of $11.1 billion.
For the first quarter, Supermicro projects net sales between $14.5 billion and $15.5 billion.
Despite the strong outlook, Supermicro stock has underperformed rival AI infrastructure companies over the last year.
