An Osun State lawmaker, Kanmi Ajibola, has issued a 30-day ultimatum to Senator Francis Fadahunsi, demanding his resignation from the National Assembly over alleged inciting remarks against members of the Accord Party.Ajibola, who represents Oriade Constituency in the Osun House of Assembly, warned that legal action would follow if Fadahunsi failed to step down. The senator, representing Osun East, has denied claims that he instructed supporters to attack Accord members, insisting his words were taken out of context. However, in a letter signed by his solicitor, Ekene Amadi, Ajibola accused Fadahunsi of “lacking strength of character for public office” and of making repeated threats against opposition members since October 2025. The letter was copied to President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.Ajibola, who previously belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside Fadahunsi before defecting to Accord, alleged that several party members had been arrested, detained, or killed in recent months. He further claimed that on August 11, just days before the Osun governorship election, Fadahunsi directed supporters to attack Accord members in Ilesa.Describing the senator’s conduct as a breach of his oath of office, Ajibola declared Fadahunsi “unfit to continue representing Osun East.” He demanded the senator’s resignation within 30 days and withdrawal from future public service, warning that failure to comply would trigger full legal proceedings.
