Towards the end of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it's revealed that the world you're living in, the one you're fighting to defend, has been created. The real Verso, who died in a conflict between the Writers and Painters, two supernatural factions that can bring their expressions to life quite literally. This twist comes as quite the shock the first time you experience it, but Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's lead writer, says it was always part of the plan to have these factions in place.
