Satellite imagery has captured the scale of Mount Etna’s latest eruption, with the volcanic plume appearing to stretch all the way towards the Maltese Islands. KM Malta Airlines stressed that passenger and crew safety remains its priority and said flights will be cancelled if volcanic ash or weather conditions pose a potential risk. The volcanic ash has also prompted a warning from Malta International Airport, with passengers told to expect possible flight disruptions today. The warning follows volcanic activity at Mount Etna, which has resulted in ash clouds spreading over the Maltese Islands. Meanwhile, the satellite footage gives Malta a pretty incredible view of the eruption from above.
