Chinese carmaker Aion has revealed details of its UT electric hatchback ahead of sales opening in September. It’s the second model to launch from Aion – the electric vehicle subsidiary of the state-owned Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC Group) – and follows the debut of the Aion V electric SUV earlier this year. The electric hatchback features a 60kWh battery that provides 268 miles of range, billed as the longest standard range in its class, and is capable of charging from 30-80% in 24 minutes. Jon Wakefield, managing director of Aion Auto UK, described the UT “as a small car that acts big on longer journeys”. The UT comes with the Aion Great 8 Promise as standard, providing an eight-year warranty, eight years’ servicing, eight years’ roadside assistance and MOT until the car is eight years old.
