BlackRock Cuts IBIT’s In-Kind Creation and Redemption Minimum by 96%BlackRock has reduced the in-kind creation and redemption minimum on the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) from $25 million to $1 million, a 96% cut disclosed in an updated SEC filing that directly reflects the change.
The reduction opens IBIT’s conversion mechanism to a significantly wider pool of mid-sized institutional participants for the first time since in-kind trading was approved in July 2025.

Mitchnick added that in-kind activity remains a minority of overall Bitcoin ETF volume but noted that usage has surged since regulators approved the mechanism.
