‌Former Donegal 1992 All-Ireland winning football star James and his wife Noreen both died following a road traffic collision which happened in Co Cavan on Monday, August 10. ‌Noreen McHugh, who was a passenger in the car, was seriously injured and airlifted to Beaumont Hospital for treatment. Their death notice on RIP.ie states: "The sudden and tragic death has occurred of James Mc Hugh and his beloved wife Noreen Mc Hugh (née O'Donnell), Bavin, Kilcar. ‌"Missed dearly by their heartbroken and much adored children Emma (Diarmaid) and Eoin (Emma). "Sincere condolences to Eoin, Emma, the McHugh and O'Donnell families, extended family, CLG Chill Chartha and the wider community.
