North Yorkshire Police said it follows reports of items being taken from vehicles in Acomb overnight on Sunday (August 9). The force said the reported thefts happened in Kingsway West, Oldman Court and Ascot Way. Officers are urging anyone with information about the alleged incidents to phone 101 quoting reference 1226015437. Police said a 26-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of entering three vehicles in the Acomb area on Sunday and stealing several items, including bank cards. She has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue, police said.
