PEMBA: INCREASED tax compliance by residents has helped accelerate development in South Pemba, with improvements recorded in roads, education and health services. This was disclosed by South Pemba Regional Commissioner, Rashid Hadidi Rashid, in a discussion with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Commissioner General Yusuph Mwenda at his office in Pemba. According to the RC, the improved social services has also made South Pemba increasingly attractive to investors, whose businesses were contributing to increased tax revenues. He also thanked taxpayers for their continued trust in TRA and for voluntarily meeting their tax obligations. Mr Mwenda said TRA would continue improving tax services by listening to taxpayers and addressing their challenges.
