TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – A 14-year-old schoolgirl identified by her initials, AP, died after being struck by a train at Jurangmangu Station in Ciputat, South Tangerang, Banten, on Monday afternoon, August 10, 2026. South Tangerang Police Public Relations Section Head Second Inspector Yudhi Susanto said the incident remained under investigation as of Wednesday, August 12. Based on preliminary statements from witnesses, AP was on the platform when a train traveling from Tanah Abang entered Jurangmangu Station. Police, assisted by station personnel, evacuated AP’s body and took it to the South Tangerang Regional General Hospital for a postmortem examination. The witness and AP had traveled together to Jurangmangu Station after school.
