ShareListen to this articleBy Suleman ChiteraCHIRADZULU — Government officials, traditional leaders and community representatives have gathered at Mlinde Primary School Ground in Chiradzulu District for the elevation ceremony of Kuchombe from its previous traditional leadership status to Sub-Traditional Authority Kuchombe under Traditional Authority Mpunga. The ceremony is being held today with the elevation expected to formally recognise the changing administrative and traditional leadership needs of communities under Kuchombe. Joseph Mathyola Mwanamvekha, MP, is attending the ceremony alongside senior government officials, Members of Parliament and traditional leaders. Traditional leaders remain important partners in mobilising communities for development initiatives, including education, health, agriculture, infrastructure development and social programmes. The ceremony is continuing in Chiradzulu with government officials, traditional leaders and members of the community taking part in the proceedings.
