Acting under the department’s zero-tolerance policy, a Pest Warning team, accompanied by police, raided an illegal factory near China Chowk on the outskirts of Multan Industrial Estate. Officials seized 43,750 kilograms of fake and illegally manufactured agricultural pesticides, valued at over Rs 14. They were identified as Muhammad Shafiq, owner of the fake pesticide factory, Muhammad Majeed, Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Waqas, Muhammad Mujahid, Muhammad Luqman and Muhammad Ehsan. The Pest Warning team also collected six pesticide samples and sent them to the relevant laboratory for analysis. The seized pesticides were handed over to police as case property.
