KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Aug, 2026) The Karachi administration is set to celebrate the 79th Independence Day in a befitting manner, reflecting the significance of the occasion and a spirit of fervent patriotism, preparations for the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Mazar-e-Quaid have been finalized. On the directives of commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi Deputy Commissioners across all districts of Karachi, are making arrangements for the events and programs to celebrate Independence Day and highlight the spirit of patriotism. On Wednesday, the District Administration (Central) on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem organized a special Independence Day event at Jinnah College, in collaboration with the college. Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi attended the event as the chief guest and performed the flag-hoisting ceremony and cut the Independence Day cake. The Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners to organize grand Independence Day celebrations in their respective districts with the cooperation of educational institutions and NGOs.
