NET Web DeskThe Assam Government has announced that reconstruction of damaged roads across the state will be completed before Durga Puja.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made the statement after the Cabinet meeting held on August 11, emphasizing the urgency of restoring connectivity following widespread damage caused by floods and heavy rainfall.
Road restoration will also extend to parts of Barak Valley and Lower Assam, where infrastructure has been severely impacted by recent weather conditions.
According to the Chief Minister, all damaged roads in Guwahati will be reconstructed during September, ensuring smoother travel ahead of the festive season.
The initiative is expected to provide relief to residents and visitors during Durga Puja while addressing long-standing challenges in flood-prone areas of the state.
