Manipur CM Sets 15-Day Deadline For Surrender Of Illegal Weapons; Home Minister Warns Extortionists

The Chief Minister made the appeal while addressing a programme on “Display on the Initiatives towards Bringing Normalcy in Manipur” at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Parade Ground in Imphal.
Khemchand said illegal weapons should be surrendered through the respective Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) or Superintendent of Police.
The Chief Minister said the prolonged crisis since May 3, 2023, had adversely affected the state’s development and disrupted normal life.
According to the Chief Minister, the representatives shared a meal and discussed ways to bridge the trust deficit and work together for peace.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Art and Culture Minister Khuraijam Loken Singh, MLAs, senior civil and police officials and others attended the programme.
