A seminar dedicated to the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, jointly organised by the airport, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and QSI.
It should be noted that Heydar Aliyev International Airport has already implemented a number of measures aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
More than 4,000 outdated lighting fixtures have been replaced with energy-efficient alternatives, while new lighting management systems have been introduced.
These measures deliver annual electricity savings of approximately 1.2 GWh and reduce carbon emissions by around 600 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
These initiatives form part of Heydar Aliyev International Airport’s long-term efforts to progressively reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency and develop a more sustainable airport ecosystem.
