US adopts 'wait-and-see' strategy on Iranian conflict — magazine

US President Donald Trump has adopted a new strategy for resolving the conflict with Iran, stepping back from active diplomatic steps and military actions, The Atlantic magazine reported on Wednesday.
In this regard, the White House is now relying on a wait-and-see strategy, The Atlantic reported, adding that the new strategy involves maintaining financial sanctions and the naval blockade of Iranian ports.
"This wait-and-see approach is meant to allow stepped-up financial sanctions and a U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports to inflict economic pain," according to the magazine.
The magazine notes that carrying out this plan "requires patience" on behalf of the US president.
"Advisers privately acknowledge that a single Truth Social [social network] post fired off in anger could lead to an escalation that derails the entire plan," The Atlantic reports.
