Assam Council of Medical Registration permanently removes doctor's name over forged certificates

Guwahati: The Assam Council of Medical Registration (ACMR) has decided to permanently remove a doctor's name from its register of registered medical practitioners after finding that he had allegedly used forged educational certificates to secure admission to a medical university in Ukraine and subsequently obtain medical registration in Assam.
The doctor was subsequently registered with the Assam Council of Medical Registration on June 15, 2016.
The doctor has also been directed to surrender his Assam Council of Medical Registration certificate to the Registrar within seven days from the issuance of the order.
Accordingly, his registration with the Assam Council of Medical Registration, granted on June 15, 2016, stands removed from the register with effect from the date of issuance of the council's order.
The order was issued by Dr Anup Kumar Das, Registrar, Assam Council of Medical Registration.
