Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) Another Veterans Support Outreach event will be taking place at the oak hill church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, August 12th, from 10:00 am to noon. Veterans and their families are invited to the free event to learn about mental health counseling, VA benefits and claims assistance, employment and educational resources, housing and community programs, and other support organizations. And if you arrive hungry, they will be serving hot dogs. The event was previously supported by the Beckley Vet Center, but they are no longer able to host. A local Vietnam veteran and member of the church, Tom Tanner, has stepped up to keep the outreach available, with the help of a dedicated team of volunteers.
