Law enforcement officers from Kyrgyzstan and Russia have rescued a citizen of Kyrgyzstan in Yekaterinburg who was allegedly kidnapped following threats and demands for a large sum of money, the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported. According to the ministry, the man had previously contacted its representative office in Yekaterinburg and reported threats and extortion. During a special operation, law enforcement officers established his whereabouts and freed him. Russian law enforcement agencies are identifying other possible members of the group. Their potential involvement in previously committed serious and especially serious crimes is also being investigated.
