A Section 35 Dispersal Notice has been authorised for Leamington town centre following “numerous reports of anti-social behaviour” in the area, police have said. Leamington Police said the reports have included thefts from shops, objects being thrown in the street, and anti-social behaviour affecting businesses and members of the public. The notice has been in place since yesterday evening (Tuesday 11 August) and will remain in force until 5.29pm tomorrow (Thursday 13 August). A Section 35 Dispersal Notice is a police power under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. It allows uniformed officers to direct a person to leave a specified public area for up to 48 hours where their behaviour has contributed, or is likely to contribute, to disorder or to members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed.
