The "dilapidated" site of the former Freddie's Bar will be turned into two bungalows with private gardens, associated external works comprising parking provision, landscaping, boundary treatments, cycle storage, and installation of solar PV panels. Plans were approved after the local authority received no objections and "even two letters of support", according to local councillor Tony Murphy of the Rock Ferry ward. A design and access statement produced for the application promised to put a "dilapidated, visually negatively impacting site, previously developed brownfield land, back into use". According to the statement, the premises were previously a bar and restaurant which had been subject to a planning enforcement investigation. Freddie's Bar and Grill closed around 2023 and the building had been a Conservative club until 2020.
