Ghibli Park in Nagoya, the world's only Studio Ghibli theme park, is set to add an area inspired by Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. On 7 August, Aichi Prefecture announced plans for the proposed attraction near the west entrance plaza of Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park, where Ghibli Park is located. Officials said the attraction is planned as Ghibli Park's second fully indoor area after Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, which could encourage longer visits and offer guests a break from Nagoya's summer heat. A synopsis for the film reads: "Facing the destruction of her planet's natural resources, warrior princess Nausicaä rallies her people against an evil queen's rampaging army." Ghibli Park opened in November 2022 with three of its five themed areas – Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, Dondoko Forest and Hill of Youth.
