Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has explained the delay in payment of July 2026 salaries for county employees, attributing it to the transition into the new financial year. “During the financial year, salaries are paid on time by the end of the month from the 27th. In the notice, the county administration apologised to employees and recognised that the delay could create financial difficulties for workers and their families. The governor added that the current situation should not be compared with previous periods when county employees regularly experienced delays in receiving their pay. Staff were asked to remain patient and continue performing their duties as the county worked to complete the outstanding processes.
