The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) could face a major overhaul under a proposed law that would introduce strict timelines for student applications, placement, and revision of choices.
The Tertiary Education, Placement and Funding Bill, 2026, currently before Parliament, proposes that KUCCPS open placement applications within 30 days of the release of national assessment results.

Under the proposed law, students whose placement applications are unsuccessful would be given an opportunity to revise their choices without paying a fee.
