Jason Johnson, 35, of Cornard Road, Sudbury, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on August 10 accused of four counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 and two counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
The child, whose identity is protected by law, was aged between 11 and 12 at the time of the alleged offences.
Johnson pleaded not guilty to all six charges against him at a plea and trial preparation hearing on Monday.
Due to his denial of the charges against him, Johnson will be required to return to Ipswich Crown Court for a trial, where a jury will be presented with the evidence of his case.
However, the trial will not take place for another two years, due to a backlog of cases.
