Communities to benefit from £530,000 fund from new substation development
['Anna Mcalinden']
East Lothian Courier | News
The £530,000 community benefit fund is linked to the new Meadowmill Substation, a major transmission project being delivered by SP Energy Networks (SPEN).
Community groups will be able to apply for funding during an eight-week application window, with support available to help organisations through the process.
Before the fund launches, SP Energy Networks’ community benefits team say they will work with stakeholders to gather views on how the money could best support local priorities.
The members welcomed the idea and said they would happily support efforts to engage community groups in applying for the funding streams.
Further information on SP Energy Networks’ community benefit funding programme can be found online, with updates expected to be given later this year.
