Northern, which runs services between York and Leeds, said it will be running fewer trains on some routes on Thursday (August 13), when highs of 33C have been forecast.
The company said journeys “may take longer than usual, and unfortunately, we may need to cancel some services”.
There will be fewer Northern trains from York to Leeds via Harrogate between 10,45am and 3.45pm on Thursday, the firm said.
TransPennine Express customers whose service has been cancelled can also travel on an alternative Northern service between Wednesday and Friday.
And on Thursday, Northern customers can use their tickets on CrossCountry services between Leeds and Sheffield and between Doncaster and York if their planned train is affected by these service changes.
