A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5pm on Tuesday, August 11, we were called to a report of a man seriously injured in the Inverkip Road area of Greenock. "Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment."
