Huge plumes of smoke were first spotted at around 11.30am today on Riverside Road. Firefighters are tackling the blaze (Image: Facebook/ Shane Ryan)One witness said: "I was driving past and it looked like something exploded in one of the containers." A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue said: "We are currently in attendance in Gorleston dealing with a fire in storage containers." Three crews from Great Yarmouth are currently dealing with the incident. One local said: "I live nearby and when I saw the smoke I was very worried about the fire spreading towards my house."
