Aberdeen midfielder Kjartan Mar Kjartansson is on the verge of a return to Scandinavia. New SK Brann manager Eirik Horneland, who was a candidate to replace former Dons boss Jimmy Thelin earlier this year, is reportedly closing in on a deal to bring the 20-year-old to Norway. There has been interest from clubs in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, but Brann have agreed a six-figure offer with the Dons for the midfielder. Kjartansson has struggled for regular game time since moving to the Dons from Stjarnan a year ago, but the Dons expect to make a significant profit on the fee they paid for the Icelandic youth international last summer. Dons goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov is also expected to complete his move from Pittodrie today with the Bulgarian international set to move to St Pauli on a three-year deal after the Dons accepted a six-figure bid from the German Bundesliga 2 outfit on Tuesday.
