The Alice Lisle, a Fuller’s pub on Rockford Green in Ringwood, announced the offer on social media on Monday. The blaze began with a lorry fire on the A31 on Sunday evening before spreading across heathland and covering an estimated 1.6 square kilometres. He added that his deputy manager suggested the idea and the pub would offer firefighters and emergency responders free meals and non-alcoholic drinks until 4pm on Wednesday. “For the locals, it is hard to deal with all the diverted traffic because it is the main road through the forest.” The A31 remained closed in both directions while emergency services worked, with National Highways reporting damage to the road surface, safety barrier and boundary fencing.
