The recruiter also said London's high cost of living was forcing bankers and lawyers to seek alternative locations for their careers. According to the study, the North West will be the biggest beneficiary with 15,000 to 22,500 jobs expected to move to the region, delivering a £2.3bn boost to the local economy. Yorkshire is forecast to take another 15pc of the jobs that move out of London, equivalent to between 9,000 and 13,000 jobs. Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cambridge, Newcastle, Liverpool, Reading and Cardiff are expected to be lesser beneficiaries from Mr Burnham's devolution push, with the towns and cities expected to take 24,000 to 36,000 jobs between them.
