A family has been rescued after becoming cut off by the tide at a beach near Tayport.
The Broughty Ferry RNLI lifeboat was launched at around 12.20pm on Wednesday and sped across the Tay estuary to an area near Tentsmuir Forest.
Data from vessel tracking website Marine Traffic data appears to show the smaller inshore lifeboat travelled to an area near Lucky Scaup to the east of Tayport.
A HM Coastguard spokesperson said a “family group had miscalculated” the tide at the “Tayport side” of the estuary.
The HM Coastguard has been approached for further information.
