Centre releases Rs 4,102 crore for Census 2027 training, infrastructure and honorariumThe Centre has released Rs 4,102 crore to states and Union territories for Census 2027 preparations, including training, manpower and digital infrastructure. “In the remaining states, first phase of the census is scheduled to be completed by September 2026,” he said. “Till now, a total amount of Rs 4,102 crore has been released to States/UTs for training of census functionaries, manpower assistance, technical infrastructure, payment of honorarium to census functionaries, etc,” the reply read. “The facility of self-enumeration to the respondents through an online web portal has also been given for the first time in census. Digital tools for the second phase of the census have been developed,” he said.
