Tom Rutland, Labour MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, said: "I’m delighted that new mental health support is coming to my constituents in East Worthing & Shoreham as part of the biggest redesign of adult mental health services in a generation. "With Labour’s new NHS mental health centres and mental health emergency departments, people will be able to get the help they need earlier and closer to home. The Sussex sites will include a new mental health emergency department at either Worthing Hospital or St Richard’s Hospital, in addition to one already planned for Brighton’s Royal Sussex County Hospital. The government said this would be the biggest redesign of adult mental health services in a generation. It includes 100 new walk-in community mental health centres and 59 dedicated emergency departments focused on mental health.
