Free confidential text service offers support to teenagers facing exam anxiety

Young people in Sussex who feel overwhelmed, anxious or stressed can text the word SUSSEX to 85258 to connect with a trained mental health professional for a text-based conversation.
The 24/7 service is delivered by Shout and is especially popular with teenagers and young adults.
Dr Oliver Dale, chief medical officer for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Waiting for exam results can be a worrying time for young people.
"Text SUSSEX to 85258 offers a free, confidential and accessible way for young people to share how they're feeling and get professional help with their mental health."
Between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, the service supported more than 16,000 text conversations from people in Sussex.
