Nine-year-old Roman Russell, from Pulborough, competed in the annual Transplant Games in Sheffield, which took place from August 6 to 9. "They made us all feel so welcome and took the best care of Roman we could have possibly asked for." At three, he was placed on the transplant list and received a donor kidney after eight months. Roman hass now set his sights on winning medals at this year’s Transplant Games, thanks to funding from Evelina London Children’s Charity, which covers travel and accommodation for families to attend the event. Caroline Booth, consultant children’s kidney specialist at Evelina London, praised Roman’s progress.
