Competition for fall sports at PCM will start on August 24th. Varsity athletic events for the 2026-2027 school year will kick off for the Mustangs on Monday, August 24th as the volleyball team will compete at the Newton Cardinal Early Bird Invite and the girls and boys cross country teams will compete at Knoxville. Later in the week the volleyball team will compete at a quad hosted by Lynnville-Sully on that Thursday and the football team will travel to Sigourney-Keota for their season opener on that Friday. Before regular season competition starts, the football team will play a scrimmage against Pella on Friday, August 21st and the volleyball teams and cross country teams will also have exhibition events on Tuesday, August 18th.
