A “pioneering” new course that combines primary, community and social care nursing has been launched in response to ambitions to move more care out of hospitals. The university described it as one of the first pre-registration nursing courses in the UK that covered primary, community and social care nursing together. Students will be based in the university’s new National Health Innovation Campus, which is part-way through construction. Dr Mathew Blears, acting head of the Department for Nursing at Huddersfield, said: “The BSc (Hons) Primary, Community and Social Care Nursing is a pioneering programme that redefines how we prepare nurses for the future.
