Bayo Alaba, MP for Southend East and Rochford, has spoken out about what he describes as an “endless cycle of roadworks” across the district. The Labour MP first raised concerns in Parliament last month and says residents, businesses and farmers have all told him congestion is having a tangible impact on day-to-day life. Mr Alaba said: “Congestion in Rochford is something all residents know far too well. His concerns have been echoed by business owner Nick Ridley Johnson Green, who says congestion is impacting his company. “Several other highway maintenance and repair schemes are also taking place across Rochford as part of ongoing investment in Essex’s roads.
